Blogging , part of our lives?
In our recent issues we interviewed and published some of the many different genres of blogs in Malaysia. By now, we would probably know how blogging have evolved into what it is today. The trend that started years ago as a online journal to many, today is used by corporate giants like Air Asia, celebrities like CC and Jzelynn, to political leaders like Tun Mahathir to firstly create a following and then to reach the masses.
In recent months, we’ve seen how millions was raised to fund an election campaign only to set history for the world to acknowledge that somehow this ‘blogging’ and the internet has made our world a whole lot connected. Blogging have become a part of our daily lives, at least for some of us. We are either writing our blogs or following another. From recent interviews, we’ve seen some really cool ones that get you hooked to it (
Pamela Song,
Marina Mahathir) Some are hilarious, that they just provide you with your daily dosage of laughter(
Niamah!). Others are visually driven(
Nigel Sia,
Felicia Wong), some we rely for reviews on things we intent to buy or eat (
Anna,
LiewCF), some controversial, some are business driven(
Tony Fernandes). Whatever it may be, the point is that we can point to which blog we want to read just about anything. Many of us have taken the time and effort to learn how to customize our blogs and align to it to our own personality and feel. Some of us have even taken a step forward and made some profit from it, directly or indirectly (
Sunny and Sid).
One of the biggest challenges with blogging is the question of credibility in its information delivered. To this very day, it is almost impossible to regulate that. Perhaps it is not a question of regulating it? What do you think? In years to come, we will see where the trend and its evolution would take us. Wherever that trend takes us, it definately has become part of our daily living. Today, even mum hooks up to the internet and look for recipes on blogs, dad looks up for politics, and my siblings on gaming and gossips. They know exactly where to get their share of information.
Below are some of the blogs we have featured and will be featuring over time.
Jzelynn - Malaysian artiste and face of Reebok
